Types of Donations

A book in the library is a wonderful way to honor someone else.  The library will purchase the book and add a bookplate with your special inscription. Donations of any amount are welcome and will be used to purchase new materials. Please specify if you would like your donation to be used for a particular collection.

An on-going book sale takes place at the library where we welcome donated books, DVD's, audiobooks, etc.  If the library cannot use them in their collection, they are placed on our "Books for Sale" table in the foyer of the library to sell for a suggested donation of .25 for paperbacks and .50 for hardbacks and DVD's  We can accept new hardback fiction and nonfiction (prefer titles less than 3 years old unless they are classics), gently used paperbacks that have not yellowed, and children's books that have not been torn or written in.  We cannot accept books that are dirty, water-stained or moldy, encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines (older than 6 months) or computer books unless the books are less than one year old.

Any monetary gift to the Foundation is placed in a fund.  The Foundation currently has 2 funds:  a building fund, and special projects fund. These monies are prudently invested and are tax deductible as we are a 509 (a) 3 organization.

Building Fund

When you contribute to the FSPLD Foundation Building Fund, the money is placed in that particular fund that is allocated for the construction of adding-on a Meeting Room which is in our long range plans.

Another fund is used for the purposes of directly supporting the Four Star Public Library for special projects.
