The Four Star Public Library District is a tax-supported public library. Residents who live within the boundaries of the library pay taxes to support the library. The library district boundaries are contiguous with the local school district boundaries. Residents are eligible for a library card at no additional charge. Library cards are renewed every 3 years without additional fees provided the library card holder continues to reside in the boundaries of the library district and is a patron in good standing. Lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed library cards will be replaced for $1.00.
Non-residents of the Four Star Public Library District are eligible to receive a library card for an annual fee. The annual non-resident fee is established by the Library Board of Trustees based on the Illinois State Library's mathematical formula.
